Jamie King

A filmmaker, writer, podcaster, strangeness navigator and peer-to-peer culture enthusiast from Wales in the U.K., Jamie is best known for the STEAL THIS FILM documentary series (2006-2009), the VODO distribution platform and, more recently the STEAL THIS SHOW podcast, as well as films like This Machine Greens (2022), which looked at the impact of Bitcoin mining on energy production and consumption.

The SCHISM podcast

The SCHISM podcast continues Jamie's exploration into the so-called 'epistemic crisis', a deep change in how we process and understand the world – a crisis for some, but also the opening of an opportunity to engage with matters previously suppressed, censored, unseen, and downright strange. The schism divides us, but it also allows in the new & unexpected.

We aim to create a biweekly interview format alongside less formal community discussions taking in high strangeness, ontological shock, the breakdown of institutions – and everything rising up in the spaces they leave open.
